Today we are going to show you how you can get more subscribers, boost engagement, and create a well-rounded, optimized YouTube channel. Certain factors may change depending on your niche, but as a general rule, these tips will help you build some traction and get more followers.

So many people start off their YouTube journey, eager to change the world. They start making videos every day and they know that soon they’ll have their first 100k subscribers and a monetized channel. Then reality hits and they realize that getting even 20 YouTube subscribers is very difficult! In this article, I will give you eight tips to get

Start with a 30, 90, or 100-day upload challenge to get comfortable with video making:
When you post your first YouTube videos, nobody is going to watch them unless you’re very lucky. A lot of people find this disheartening but don’t despair, this is actually a great opportunity. Get used to uploading videos and being rubbish at video making during this stage.
By the time people are watching your videos, you will have improved dramatically. Begin with an upload challenge. Aim to upload one video every day for 30–100 days. By the time you finish this challenge, you should be over any fear or discomfort you have about being on camera.
2. Edit your videos and shoot your videos so that they are fun to watch:
Create your videos around the concept of the two E’s, Entertain and Educate. You want people to watch all of your videos because audience retention boosts your ranking in YouTube’s algorithms. So the longer people watch your videos, the more YouTube will promote your videos, because they can see people enjoy your content.
If you just educate in your videos, people might get bored and click away. So try to move a lot in your videos, use cutaways, bring in humor, use different camera angles, try to make a mild change every 10 seconds. This will keep people’s attention and boost your watch time.
3. Raise your energy:
When you create a video, you are sitting in a room by yourself. You most likely aren’t used to talking by yourself into a camera (unless you’ve got issues that this article won’t cover). So you probably will talk with very low energy and very quietly.
It is really important to raise your energy in front of the camera. Fake it! Actually over act!! Use a lot of exaggerated hand gestures, move around, talk faster, talk more excited. Remember that when you are on camera, you are performing your own material. You are a performer on camera, always remember that.
3. Make content specific to people in certain FB groups:
You need to start promoting your content outside of YouTube. If YouTube sees people coming from other platforms to view your content, and those people watch most of your video, then YouTube will promote your videos more. Facebook groups are the main place I share my videos. And here’s my secret.
I make videos specifically for groups that have high engagement. So I’ll join some Facebook groups, I’ll check the ones that get a lot of engagement on posts and then I’ll make videos relevant to that group.
So for example, Affiliate Marketing is my niche, so I do Builderall and Clickfunnels tutorials, and then I share my videos in those groups. This gets people who are genuinely interested in my videos to watch them, leading to long view times, engagement, and subscribes, which in turn leads to YouTube promoting my video more and in turn getting it even more views, more engagement, and more subscribes. Do you see the circle here?
It doesn’t matter what niche you are in. If you are a guitarist, make tutorial videos on how to play popular songs and share them in Facebook guitarist groups. Or you could make videos showing guitarists how to monetize their talents by making YouTube videos and Affiliate Marketing guitar related products through them.
4. Beg, steal, and borrow for your first YouTube subs:
The first 100 subscribers are the toughest to get, the first 1000 are still really tough to get, but it gets easier and easier. People are more inclined to subscribe when they already see you have a lot of subscribers.
The more subs you have, the more views you can expect just through people scrolling on YouTube. You should expect on average to get 10 views for every subscriber you have. So start getting those first few subscribers. Ask friends and family to subscribe. You can sub-for-sub to get some of your first subscribers but remember it is against YouTube’s terms and these subscribers are likely to unsubscribe and not engage with your content.
5. Friend people in your niche in Facebook groups:
This tip alone has boosted my YouTube subscriber count by 500 in two months. Join Facebook groups in your niche and start friending group members. If they accept your friend request, drop them a message and say “Hi”. If they message back, have a little conversation.
Then in a month, go through your friend’s list and ask all of them to subscribe. Since you introduced yourself a month ago, you were friendly, and you didn’t try to sell them anything, they should subscribe…. Unless they’re d*cks. Check out this video on how to download a list of your FB friends so you can view them by added date.
6. Promote all your videos by sharing them in Facebook groups:
As I mentioned earlier, share your videos in groups that are relevant to your niche. But don’t just share in these groups once. Share your video the same day you launch it, the first 24 hours are vital, if you can get a lot of views and retention in these first 24 hours, YouTube is more likely to promote your videos.
Then, after 2 months, share this video in all these Facebook groups again. This method can add hundreds of views to videos you created years ago. Just keep doing it as long as your video is still relevant. You’ll always get more views and subscribers.
7. Scale with paid Ads:
Once you are happy with the standard of your YouTube videos and you feel they are retaining audiences well. Start promoting them using paid YouTube Ads. You should get views for 2c to 5c.
